The Challenge
Traditional resume screening is broken — recruiters spend $45-75 per phone screen, only reach 10% of applicants, and miss great candidates. Job applications don't capture how people think or communicate.
The Approach
Built a complete voice-first hiring platform from scratch. Candidates have a 7-minute AI voice conversation instead of filling forms. The system uses Hume EVI for real-time voice, Gemini 2.5 Flash for conversation, and GPT-4 for structured insight generation. Evidence-based recruiter dashboard (no AI scores — humans always decide). Bidirectional ATS integrations with Greenhouse, Lever, and Workday. Built a separate candidate-facing brand (Apply by Voice) with its own domain and job board.
The Result
$10/conversation vs $45-75 traditional phone screens. 3x completion rate vs long forms. 11 languages supported. 100% of applicants get heard. Two production brands — convergehiring.com (enterprise) and applybyvoice.com (candidates).
